Czech Rocket Challenge

Overview

The Czech Rocket Challenge is a national student rocketry competition organised by Czech Rocket Society — by students, for students. Teams design, build, and launch their own model rockets, with scoring based on altitude precision, recovery, and payload mission success.

I competed as part of team MARS, representing Střední škola Edvarda Beneše Břeclav. Our goal was to design a rocket from scratch — structure, fins, nose cone, recovery system, and onboard electronics.

What I did

• Designed rocket body, fins, and nose cone in Fusion 360
• 3D-printed structural components and iterated on fit and aerodynamics
• Designed and assembled the electronics bay: altimeter, ejection charge controller
• Assembled the full rocket including motor mount and recovery system (parachute)
• Participated in launch day and analysed flight data post-flight

Tech Stack

Outcome

Successfully competed in the Czech Rocket Challenge. The rocket was launched, reached target altitude, and recovered intact. A great team experience combining mechanical design, electronics, and real-world testing.
